February 2020 Newsletter

Our first newsletter for the new decade! How crazy is that? It’s been a busy one, filling orders, making minders, and reflecting on how far we have come since founding as well as all our exciting plans for the future! So let’s get started.

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

The first event for the year has been planned. A Mystery Stitch! For those who haven’t heard of it before, a pattern is secretly chosen from a carefully curated selection of designs. We then release one or more pages each month, and participants stitch it and get to guess what it is! It is a lot of fun, and as the founders of this event way back with our Celtic Peacock, we know it’s going to be a roaring good time. Thus far, we have selected June 1^st as the start date. February, we will be making the selection for the design and placing the participation listing on our website. That will contain all the info you need to prepare for the event. You will receive a floss list, how much fabric you require, and a suggestion on colors of fabric. Then on the 1^st of June, we will add page one of the mystery stitch to the download list, and you can get started. We hope to have lots of fun giveaways and comps within this Mystery Stitch, so watch this space for more info! We also have a Facebook event running through our Facebook group if you’d like to check that out and keep closer tabs on things and participate in discussions for the game.

UPGRADES AND DESIGNS

We continue to upgrade pattern files. This means additions of the small grid, which is the smallest grid we make for printing and the smart pattern which is designed for digital use only. We are also compatible with the latest cross stitch app Pattern Keeper, so there are plenty of options out there for stitchers. We like to ensure as many styles are catered for as possible, and we pride ourselves on the fact that you receive a plethora of choices for the one easy price.

WELCOME OUR NEW ARTIST TO THE FAMILY

We extend a warm welcome to our latest artist to join the family, Valentina Ghirardi. Valentina creates incredible fantasy and Gothic works, and we just know you will love what they have to offer. We will be busily translating and creating from their artworks over the coming months, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled on the patterns section of the store for their goodies!

5 PATTERNS FOR THE PRICE OF 4 EXTENDED

We’ve extended the buy any 4 designs, get your 5^th for free to include ALL Patterns, not just Unconventional X Stitch category pieces. This means you can pick and mix whatever you like, with the 5^th being free. We hope that this offer is well received, and to make it a permanent feature of the store. Remember, the free pattern will be the cheapest in your cart.

BUY 2 NEEDLE MINDERS, GET YOUR 3^RD FREE

We recently ran a sale, offering customers who purchased 2 needle minders, to add a 3^rd for free. This went off like hotcakes! We were really pleased with the results, and are considering adding it as a permanent feature with enough requests to do so! If you missed out on this great offer, don’t fear, you can still get within our Needle Minder Sale category, the same deal. Add any 2 from our sale category, and you can add a 3^rd from that category and get it free. Same deal as the patterns, the cheapest will be free.

NEWSLETTER PLANS

We are looking at ways of delivering a newsletter direct to your inbox so you don’t need to check the blog all the time. Once we find an offering that meets our and your needs, we will be giving it a red hot go. Keep in mind, only those who have nominated to be included in the mailing list will receive any e-mail newsletters. If you’d like to be added, please log in and check your account settings.

SOCIAL MEDIA

We acknowledge that not all members can or want to use social media. This, unfortunately, means that currently, they miss out on monthly prize giveaways such as the WIP of the month giveaway and events such as the Stitchathons or Stitched Up Weekends, which are all run via our Facebook group. We are looking at ways of being more inclusive and welcome any suggestions from non-social media users.

OTHER EVENTS

We will be planning a Stitchathon event and will continue to offer a WIP monthly prize too. Stitchathon event will be announced once we have planned it in and worked out where to fit it. Our WIP monthly prize involves uploading your WIP of our works to our Facebook group wall, and your name is added to a random draw for the chance to win a $10 store credit. Don’t forget you both need an account on the website as well as your name to match your account between Facebook and our website for the prize to be applied.
